Labels & Certifications

Different certifications exist throughout the paper industry; including mill certifications, product certifications and self-assessments.

  • ISO

    International Standard Organisation

    International frame of references which describes organisational requirements for the implementation in the company of management system for Quality (ISO 9001) or Environment (ISO 14001); both are based on the principle of constant improvement.

  • EMAS

    Environmental Management and Audit Scheme

     European regulation created in 1995 by the European Commission to fit with voluntary approach of eco-management = ISO 14001 with obligation of communication on environmental performances.

  • FSC®

    Forest Stewardship Council®

    FSC® Chain of Custody certification tracks the FSC® certified material through the production processes, from the source all the way to the end-use. 

 

Product Certification

  • European Ecolabel

    - 10% of fibres coming from well managed forests - Emissions in water and air 
    - Energy consumption
    - Absence of dangerous chemical substances
    - Waste management

  • EC regulation N° 1935/2004 from the European Parliament and Council of 27 October 2004

    - specifies the general requirements applicable to all materials destined to come into contact with foodstuffs.

Self-assessments

Labels certified by professional associations of production or distribution sectors, on the basis of self-assessment made by the applicant.

    National Association of Paper Merchants (UK)
